Behind-the-Scenes: The Class
The Bridge Student Film Festival is a film festival at Bridgewater State University run by students enrolled in a Film Festival Production course taught by Dr. Michele Meek. The first festival took place on April 26, 2023 at Bridgewater State University and included films by students from Bridgewater State University, University of Rhode Island, UMass Lowell, and Medfield High School.

What: The Bridge Student Film Festival is a student-run film festival to showcase and uplift creative, original, and diverse short narrative films and documentaries by public high school and college/university students in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. The festival will include online and in-person screenings, networking events, and an award ceremony.
When: The in-person festival will take place on Wednesday April 26, 2023 from 12pm-5pm, In addition, there will be screenings online from April 20-26, 2023.
Where: In person screenings/events will take place in the Moakley Auditorium at Bridgewater State University in Bridgewater, MA. Additional screenings will take place online at https://bridgestudentfilmfestival.org/
Why: To spotlight diverse films by student filmmakers in Massachusetts and Rhode Island and foster connections among film students from public institutions across the region.
Who: The festival is open to students from public high schools, colleges, and universities in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. It is run by Dr. Michele Meek’s Film Festival Production course at Bridgewater State University.
